Cowden boss Brian Welsh tied up the loan signing of Hearts striker Denis McLaughlin in February 2008.

The 21-year old spent the first half of the season on loan with Spanish 2nd division side RS Gimnastica Torrelavega and joins Hearts team mates John Armstrong, David Armstrong and Matt Doherty at Central Park.

The Irish-born frontman had similar loan spells with Berwick Rangers in 2006 and Raith Rovers in 2007.
