Cowdenbeath V Morton

Posted September 14, 2012

After last Sunday’s Ramsdens Cup win over East Stirlingshire we return to Irn Bru First Division action on Saturday when we face Allan Moore’s Morton side at Central Park with a 3 p.m. kick off.

COWDEN FORM
Sunday’s win at Ochilview was our fifth in succession with our last defeat coming from Dunfermline on the opening day of the league campaign.
This run of form has taken us to join second place in the table three points behind leaders Partick Thistle and level with the Pars.

MORTON FORM
Morton have had a mixed start to the campaign with one win, two draws and a defeat from their opening four games.
The opened with a home 2-2 draw with Livingston and came away from Hamilton with a point following a 1-1 draw.
A 2-1 home defeat followed before a 3-0 home win over Dumbarton in their last league outing a fortnight ago.

PLAYER TO WATCH
Archie Campbell bagged a hat trick in the 3-0 win over Dumbarton and could have had another goal but missed his second penalty of the afternoon.
Archie of course had two spells at Central Park firstly as a youngster before he was signed by Rangers for a five figure fee.
He returned to us for the second half of season 2010-11 on loan and scored five goals in 13 (+ 4 sub) games for us.

MATCH OFFICIALS
Man in the middle on Saturday afternoon is Stephen Finnie who will be assisted by Stuart Stevenson and Martin McCarthy.
