Reserves Record Win

PostedNovember 1, 2012

A strong Cowden XI proved too much for Airdrie at Central Park on Tuesday night.
It took only 15 minutes for us to break the deadlock when Greg Stewart slotted the ball into the corner of the net from seven yard following a pass from Coult.
Seven minutes from the interval we doubled our advantage when Kenny Adamson fired home after efforts from both Stewart and Coult had been cleared off the line by the Diamonds defence.
Two quick fire goals early in the second half settled the score. With 55 minutes gone Coult ran past a couple of defenders before cheekily back heeling the ball into the net and almost from kick off Stewart picked up the ball and set up Jamie Stevenson to shoot home from eight yards.
With 12 minutes to go Marc McKenzie fired home a fifth from the edge of the box and minutes later Ramsay saw a shot rebound off the bar.
However with three minutes to go a sixth goal eventually came when Stewart shot home his second goal of the night.
