MATCH PREVIEW – MORTON

After three home games we are on the road on Saturday when we head to Greenock to face Allan Moore’s Morton at Cappielow, kick-off 3 p.m.
Our meeting with the Ton at Central Park back in mid- September saw a 4-3 win for the visitors with Peter Weatherson hitting a brace along with former Central Parker Archie Campbell and David O’Brien.
After being 2-0 down John Armstrong pulled a goal back for us but the visitors then raced into a 4-1 lead early in the second half before late goals from Mark Ramsay and Jamie Stevenson made the score more respectable for us.
 
COWDEN FORM
We have now gone eight league games without a win with four draws and four defeats during that period.
Our latest draw was last Saturday when the game with Airdrie United ended 1-1.
Our away league record this season is Played 5, Won 2, drawn 1, Lost 2, Goals For 8, Goals Against 6, Points 7.
 
MORTON FORM
Morton are currently in third place in the Irn Bru First Division four points behind joint league leaders Partick Thistle and Dunfermline Athletic.
Since we last met on 15th September Allan Moore’s side have only lost one game at home to Hamilton Academical a fortnight ago.
During this spell they have won four and drawn twice. Last Saturday they bounced back from the defeat from the Accies with a 5-1 win at Dumbarton.
Morton’s home league record this season is Played 6, Won 3, Drawn 1, Lost 2, Goals For 10 Goals Against 6, Points 10.
 
PLAYER TO WATCH
Peter Weatherson is a player who always seems to score against us both for Morton and his previous club Queen of the South.
 
MATCH OFFICIALS
Taking charge of the match is Craig Thomson who will be assisted by Derek Rose and Alasdair Ross.

Parent & 1 Child - £18
 
Concession prices are available to those over 65 years, full time students and those registered as unemployed. 
 
Cowdenbeath supporters should enter the ground at the East Hamilton Street turnstiles. 
 
Wheelchair spaces cost £10 which includes admission for a carer if required. These should be booked in advance by contacting the Club by telephone on 01475 723571 or by email to admin@gmfc.net. Children Under 5 years are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. 
 
TRAVEL
The Miners Mini Tours bus will leave Central Park at 12.25 p.m. and there are a number of seats available for non-members with the following prices Adults - £15 and Concessions £10.
