Dundee Away - Match Preview

MATCH PREVIEW – DUNDEE

It’s the start of two away games on Saturday when we head over the Tay to face league leaders Dundee at Dens Park.

John Brown’s side were the bookies pre-season favourites and after an indifferent start to their campaign they are now living up to that billing.

It will be a tough task for Jimmy Nicholl and his side with the Dee having the best home record in the division and remain unbeaten on home soil after seven Championship matches.

Both skipper John Armstrong and Jamie Stevenson failed to finish the first half last Saturday against Livingston with shoulder and Calf injuries respectively.

The two players will be assessed ahead of the game and were joined on the injury list in midweek by Marc McKenzie who twisted his knee late on in the reserve game with East Stirlingshire after opening the scoring in the 1-1 draw.

The last meeting of the sides at Central Park saw the Dee run out 2-0 winners in October thanks to goals in each half from Craig Beattie and Ryan Conroy.

COWDEN FORM

It has been a disappointing time for us on our travels so far this season with just two points from draws at Queen of the South and Dumbarton.

We go into the match on the back of five defeats with our last point gained at Dumbarton on 26th October.

DUNDEE FORM

In contrast to our form, the Dee have been unbeaten in their last four league games with 3 wins and a draw during that time, although the lost 1-0 at home to Raith Rovers in the William Hill Scottish Cup thanks to a bizarre own goal.

Alloa, Livingston, Morton, Queen of the South and Raith Rovers have all been beaten in the Championship at Dens Park while Hamilton (0-0) and Falkirk (1-1) have left with a point.
