DOUBLE SEMI FINAL TIES

Posted April 23, 2014

While the main focus recently has been the first team's battle to avoid the relegation play off our younger players have quietly gone about qualifying for both the Reserve and Under 19 League Cup Semi Finals.

Last Monday night Ben Anthony hit a double along with Kyle Mitchell to see the reserves beat East Stirlingshire 3-0 at Stirling University to top their section just ahead of runner up Alloa Athletic.

The reserves will now meet either Morton, Queen's Park or Annan Athletic in the Semi Final at Central Park on a date still to be announced.

On Sunday afternoon the youngsters made it a double Semi Final appearance when they beat Dundee 2-0 at Craigie Park with Craig Johnston , who made his first team debut the previous day, hitting a brace.

The 19s sit in second spot in their group four points behind leaders Arbroath with games against Stirling Albion and the Red Lichties still to be played.

We will meet either Airdrieonians, Celtic or Ayr United in the Semi Final.

UPDATE - Following Queen's Park's 3-0 win over Annan Athletic on Tuesday night it is now confirmed that we will meet Morton in the Reserve League Cup Semi Final at Central Park on a date still to be announced.

The Spiders win saw them leapfrog Morton in the West table to win the section. Queen's will be at home to Alloa Athletic in the other Semi Final tie.
