MATCH PREVIEW – CLYDE.
Following the disappointment of our Petrofac Training Cup exit against Brechin we are back in cup action when we face Clyde in the opening round of the League Cup at Broadwood Stadium with a 3 p.m. kick off.
It’s the battle of two former Rangers captains as Jimmy Nicholl goes head to head with Barry Ferguson who took over from Jim Duffy in the summer.
Ferguson, who spent the second half of last season as interim manager at English League 2 side Blackpool, got his Clyde career off to a winning start last week with a 2-0 home win over Ayr United in the Petrofac Training Cup thanks to goals from Scott McManus and John Sweeney from the penalty spot.
Cowden connections at the Bully Wee are Pat Scullion and first team coach Bob Malcolm.
After missing last week’s game due to suspension Lewis Milne will be eligible for selection.
