MATCH PREVIEW - BERWICK RANGERS (H)

Posted January 26, 2018

After both sides having an enforced lay off last Saturday due to the weather we get back into Ladbrokes League Two action on Saturday afternoon when Berwick Rangers are our visitors with a 3pm kick off.

The Borderers have held the upper hand in the two previous fixtures this term with two 1-0 wins. Back in August a header from one time Cowden loaneee Aaron Murrell gave them a win at Central Park whilst in October a penalty from Michael McKenna gave them the points at Shielfield Park in what proved to be Billy Brown's last game in charge of us.

Berwick now under the charge of another former Cowden loanee Robbie Horn currently sit in seventh place on 21 points from their 19 games played so far.

We go into the match without Robbie Buchanan who completes his suspension while Kyle Miller also misses out after being sent off at Elgin a fortnight ago along with assistant manager Mark Fotheringham who was sent from the technical area, Berwick will miss the services of McKenna and Steven Notman who are also suspended.

Recent signings Craig Henderson, Aiden Malone, Jordan Hornby, Ben Reilly, David Cox and Brandon Luke are all in line to make their home debuts.

COWDEN FIVE GAME FORM

We have had two draws and three defeats in our last five games. The draws have come against Stenhousemuir (1-1) and Montrose (1-1) while we lost to Peterhead (2-3), Edinburgh City (0-2) and Elgin (0-1).

Top Scorer - Robbie Buchanan (4).

BERWICK FIVE GAME FORM

Berwick have had four defeats and a draw in their last five outings with their only point coming from a goal less draw at Broadwood against Clyde a month ago. They have lost to Montrose (0-3), Edinburgh City (0-3), Stirling (0-2) and Annan (0-2) with their last goal coming in a 1-0 win over Stirling in early December.

Top Scorer - Michael McKenna (6).
