Kit Man Required

Cowdenbeath Football Club are looking to recruit a part-time, volunteer kit man to work with our kit manager who has responsibility for the club's first team. The post holder will assist the kit manager who is in charge of the club's kit requirements and this includes both matchday and training.

This is an ideal role for a Cowdenbeath fan or someone with an interest in football. You will be part of the club’s backroom team which works closely with the coaching and playing staff – right at the ‘coal face’ in the SPFL. Hours and specific duties will be agreed by the kit manager – at present as well as matchdays, the key focus is on training nights on Tuesday and Thursday normally at Oriam in Edinburgh. The key responsibilities of the kit manager include the undernoted. The kit man will assist with some of these or handle specific matters on a delegated/deputy basis as agreed by the kit manager :

 

• To manage the club's kit requirements, ensuring that all regular duties are completed.

• To deal with the first team management and staff's kit requirements.

• To organise kit distribution which involves communicating with the first team manager

• To be responsible for kit stock levels and control.

• To purchase kit for club in liaison with Office Manager/Finance Director within agreed budgets and to provide budget input.

• Loading/unloading kit van with kit and matchday/training equipment and driving kit van.

• The ordering of kit, providing information on quantities, sizes etc.

• Ensure the correct kit and equipment are provided for all home and away games.

• Liaison with cleaner as appropriate re handling work in the laundry room.

• Responsible for ensuring that match kits are suitably available for each match.

• Agreeing team colours to be used at each match in conjunction with match official and opponents.

• Ensure that all first team squad and staff kits are prepared and that they have everything they require for training, with communication with the coaches and staff about their needs for training.

• Keeping work areas clean, neat, tidy and organised.

• To undertake responsibilities with full knowledge of the importance of confidentiality and the club's relevant policies.
