Raith Rovers have now confirmed that goalkeeper Dave McGurn has returned to the club to take up a player/coach role.
Dave had originally agreed to stay for a fourth successive season with the Blue Brazil, but then was offered the chance to be a player/coach with Raith. Raith Rovers of course have now adopted a model whereby they will have a mix of full-time and part-time players and Dave had originally left Stark’s Park after 8 years with the Club as he was unable to go full-time. Cowden boss Gary Bollan explained: "We had verbally agreed that Dave would stay with us but he had this opportunity from the Rovers to be their player/coach so we have agreed that he can move. Dave has been a good servant to Cowdenbeath and we thank him for his work and wish him all the best. It leaves a gap and I have been speaking to a 'keeper and hopefully he will put pen to paper later this week."
Dave had been at Central Park for 3 seasons and latterly had also been Cowden’s goalkeeping coach.
