Cowdenbeath FC – Coronavirus

Posted March 14, 2020

Following the decision of the Scottish football authorities to suspend senior football in Scotland at present due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Cowdenbeath FC held a Board meeting today at Central Park to consider the ramifications of this and to take forward its contingency planning.

It is clear that the shutdown will have an immediate and primary effect on the club’s operation and cashflow. A number of areas and options have already been examined but at this juncture we are primarily awaiting further information from both Government and the Football authorities. We will then look to share more information once we do have greater clarity. In the interim, fans can indeed assist in a very practical way by such means as Club 135 donations, playing the club lottery where the jackpot is now some £4,100, or by joining the 100 Club, etc.

Our main concern is though the health and wellbeing of everyone associated with our club – be it fans, players, coaching and other staff, as well of course as their families.
