Signing activity at Central Park continues apace never mind that it's the weekend! Cowden boss Maurice Ross today secured the signature of 20 year old Fifer Lucas Berry who played his part in Edinburgh City's successful promotion bid last season.
A former pupil of Woodmill High School, Lucas began his football journey as a boy with Elgin Star in Dunfermline and then played for the Norrie McCathies before joining the Hearts Academy. Later he crossed back over the Forth and came into the Fife Elite Football Academy set up. He next stepped up into the senior ranks as an apprentice with Dunfermline Athletic before joining City last season.
It's ideal to have another local lad with us at Central Park and we look forward to having our new midfield man with us at training this week at Lumphinnans. Lucas made plain his thoughts after joining the Blue Brazil, "I am buzzing to be signing with Cowdenbeath as I know the ambitions of the club and the manager, This season I want to play my part in a winning team, develop as a player and get more experience under my belt as well as to work well with the manager and players."
