It’s the first of two home games in four days as we welcome East Stirlingshire with a 3pm kick off.
Shire’s last visit to Central Park in May 2009 was in much happier times when we contested a Second Division Play Off Semi Final. A Darren McGregor goal gave us a win that wet afternoon in what was a sliding doors moment for both clubs , we would go onto play the first half of the next decade in the second tier while the Shire became the first side to be relegated from the SPFL in 2016 and have spent the last six years in the Lowland League.
After consistently finishing in the top six the Shire have made a slow start to this campaign and find themselves in the bottom two. Currently sitting on five points which all came from draws they have lost all their other five league games.
The latest defeat came on Wednesday night when they went down 4-1 to The Spartans despite taking an early lead at the Falkirk Stadium.
