MATCH PREVIEW - EAST KILBRIDE (A)

Posted August 26, 2023

The two sides yet to be beaten in the Lowland League go head to head this afternoon in the battle of the last two undefeated sides.

New signing Robbie Garcia goes straight into Calum Elliot’s squad for the trip west.

LAST TIME OUT

On Wednesday night we were held to a goal less home draw against Broomhill with visiting keeper Luke Scullion putting in a Man of the Match performance as we failed to score for the first time in the league this season.

THE OPPOSITION

New EK boss Mick Kennedy has seen his side win five and draw once in their opening six games which saw them go top of the table on Tuesday night following a 2-1 home win over Celtic B, although they dropped to second place last night after Hearts B drew with Caledonian Braves.

Their other home league games have seen 2-1 home wins over Broomhill and East Stirlingshire while on the road they beat Gretna 2008 7-0 and Gala 6-1 while they drew 1-1 against University of Stirling.

In the SPFL Trust Trophy they have beaten Celtic B 3-1 and Stirling Albion 3-0 both away from home and now have another away tie against Edinburgh City.

In the South Challenge Cup they beat Nithsdale Wanders 9-0 at K Park last Saturday and now have another home tie against Maybole next month.
