The owners and the Board of Directors of Cowdenbeath Football Club would like to congratulate manager Danny Lennon, the staff and the players for their fantastic achievement so far this season and wish them good luck for the play-off final against Brechin City .
They are a credit to Cowdenbeath Football Club. We are all looking forward to next season – whether in the Irn-Bru First or Second Division.
We are fully committed to Cowdenbeath Football Club and to see the Club competing in the Scottish Football League, and based at Central Park for the foreseeable future. We are working in a very difficult financial environment for football clubs. The longer-term future will depend on the support of the local community. No one should be under any illusion that this will be easy. There are many difficulties ahead. It will require a lot of hard work, financial support and commitment on everybody's part. It is vital that more income is generated and the hard work starts now.
The talks with the Cowden Action Group have been very positive and encouraging. We are all committed to work together for the long-term future of the club. There is still a critical need for the supporters, the local community and other stakeholders to work together with us to ensure the survival of Cowdenbeath FC - and develop a sustainable community football club relocated to a new facility which can serve the community for another 100 plus years. We will do what we can to assist but the onus is on the support and local community – it is your club.
We hope that the community will show its commitment to the club by turning out in good numbers for the first leg of the final at Central Park on Wednesday night.
