Coming to a TV screen near you – Cowdenbeath v Brechin City LIVE!

Lower league fans will be used to witnessing a fleeting glimpse of their team in Scottish Cup highlight packages but, in a historic moment, Cowden’s play off double header against Brechin City will be beamed live to exiled Blue Brazilians and the masses around the globe.

In a deal secured by the Scottish Football League, the games on Wednesday and Sunday will be screened live by BBC ALBA and can also be viewed online via the BBC Iplayer.

Cowden boss Danny Lennon said: “It’s a massive game for everyone involved and the presence of TV cameras adds to the big match occasion.

“I was out helping the BBC ALBA guys earlier this week and the coverage is great for us and lower league football.

 “It will be interesting to see how the players react as most will not have played in a televised game before. I’m expecting them to turn up with fancy new hairstyles and cup final suits....some of the fans also!
