MATCH PREVIEW – INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE (A)

It's back to Scottish Gas Scottish Cup action as we head north to the Caledonian Stadium to face Inverness Caledonian Thistle with a 3pm kick off.

So far, we have beaten Linlithgow Rose (2-1) and Kilwinning Rangers (1-0) to reach the Third Round.

Inverness of course reached the final last season before going down to Celtic. It was a bizarre campaign, with a Third- Round win over Stirling Albion (3-2) before losing 2-0 to Queen’s Park but they were later awarded the tie following The Spiders fielding an ineligible player. Premiership Livingston were beaten 3-0 before another top flight side Kilmarnock were beaten 2-1 in the Quarter Finals. The Semi Final saw a 3-0 win over Falkirk before a 3-1 defeat from Celtic in the Final.


LAST TIME OUT

Last Saturday we got back to winning ways beating Lanark United 6-0 to progress to the last sixteen of the South Challenge Cup.


THE OPPOSITION

Inverness CT, now under the charge of Duncan Ferguson, sit in seventh place in the Championship with 13 points from their opening 12 games.

Ferguson, who left Forest Green Rovers in the summer, is now six games unbeaten since taking over at the Caledonian Stadium in September following the departure of Billy Dodds.

His debut game saw a 3-2 win at Arbroath which has been followed by a goal less home draw with Partick Thistle and a 1-0 win over Airdrie at the Caledonian Stadium. That was followed by a 1-1 draw against Ferguson’s old side Dundee United at Tannadice before a 3-1 home win over Ayr United.

Last Saturday they were in the Kingdom for a 1-1 draw with our neighbours Dunfermline Athletic.
