MATCH PREVIEW - BO'NESS UNITED (H)

Posted January 13, 2024

After the disappointment of seeing our last two scheduled games against East Stirlingshire and Linlithgow Rose being postponed due to frozen pitches, hopefully we will get back into action against Bo’ness United with a 3pm kick off.

The BU’s were the last team to beat up in the Lowland League back in November when we went down 4-2 at Newtown Park with Ewan MacPherson and Jamie Docherty getting our goals and Ryan Porteous hitting a brace along with Tom Grant and Keir Foster for the BU’s.

After two free Saturday’s we managed to play neighbours Hill of Beath Hawthorn in a closed doors game on Tuesday night at Central Park with new signing Daryl Healy bagging a brace along with Lucas Berry, Ewan MacPherson and Adam MacDonald in a 5-1 win with former Central Parker Stuart Love getting the Haws goal from the penalty spot.

LAST TIME OUT

Our last game was on Boxing Day when goals from Ciaren Chalmers and Zac Butterworth with a brace which included a last minute winner saw us beat East Stirlingshire 3-2 at the Falkirk Stadium.

THE OPPOSITION

It has been a good first season in charge for manager Stuart Hunter who saw his side get off to a blistering start opening their first five league games.

Although they were unable to keep that pace going they continue to have a good season and currently sit in fourth place with 41 points from their opening 21 games which have seen 13 wins, two draws and six defeats.
