A second successive cup weekend see’s us face Ormiston Primrose in the Second Round of the CarMatKings South Challenge Cup at New Recreation Park with a 2.30pm kick off.
Last season we reached the last eight of the cup beating Kilsyth Rangers (2-0), Whitehill Welfare (4-2) and Lanark United (6-0) before bowing out to eventual winners East Kilbride (0-6) with all the games taking place at Central Park.
Indeed, this afternoon will be the first time we have played an away game in the cup as we lost 0-2 to Cumbernauld Colts the season before at Central Park.
THE OPPOSITION
This will be the first ever meeting of the sides. Primrose sit 8th in the 11 team East of Scotland League Third Division with 7 points from their opening 6 games.
They have beaten Pumperherston 3-2 and Edinburgh United by a similar score and drawn 2-2 with Edinburgh Community.
Losses in the league have come from Hawick Royal Albert 1-3 and last Saturday against Newburgh 1-3.
In the Alex Jack Cup they lost 4-0 to Oakley United and in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup they went down 5-0 to Musselburgh Athletic.
