New Manager Appointment

The Board of Cowdenbeath FC are delighted to confirm that player/coach Paul McLean has today agreed to become the new manager of the Blue Brazil following the departure of Dougie Hill.

Paul of course made a major contribution both on and off the field last season and is keen to further build on that platform as he takes charge at Central Park. We are sure all our fans will warmly welcome Paul in his new role - he has quickly established himself as a fan favourite at Cowdenbeath.

As he takes the next step on his footballing journey, Paul was able to share his initial thoughts and said, "I am really pleased that the Chairman and Board at Cowdenbeath are willing to put their trust in me and I am determined to repay their faith in me. I look forward to taking on the manager's role. I readily recognise there are some tough challenges to be faced. There is a good rapport already at the club and I am looking for continuity in that respect and to get the very best out of the players. I ask the Cowden fans to continue to give me their backing and allow me a little bit of time to get my own ideas across to the squad. We are all in this together and our aim has to be to advance higher up the table next season. I am already having conversations with the players and am seeking to put together my coaching team in very early course. It's an exciting opportunity for me and I hope that we can continue to produce the entertaining, attacking brand of football we displayed in the latter part of last season."
