Stuart Signs

We can now announce the signing of 19 year old midfielder Stuart McDowell from Linlithgow Rose.

Stuart started his career in the Dunfermline Athletic youth system before joining The Rose for the 2023/24 campaign. Successful loan spells at Luncarty and Sauchie Juniors followed before going on to make 7 appearances for his parent club in the second half of last season, netting against University of Stirling in March.

A Scotland Schoolboy international, Stuart represented his country alongside a familiar face - Shay Burke. He is also the son of former Blue Brazil hero Murray McDowell.

Our latest signing commented "Delighted to be here - it's a club I have affinity with due to my dad being here a while ago. I look forward to getting started and establishing myself. Colin and the gaffer talked with me a lot and those discussions helped me decide this is the best place to continue my football journey. Really looking forward to next season to do my bit for the team to have a successful season."

Manager Paul McLean was equally pleased "Another player we’re delighted to have onboard. An attacking midfielder who I hope will bring goals and assists to the team. Was really keen to join the club and I’m sure the fans will enjoy watching him play."

While Colin Nelson added "Brilliant to announce that Stuart has chosen to come to us. He could have gone elsewhere but chose us after positive discussions. He's hungry, ambitious and a talented player. He needs a consistent run of games and I feel we are the right club for him. He's an excellent box to box midfielder and very good from dead ball situations. He had a successful loan at Sauchie where his numbers in terms of goals and assists were very good. We welcome him to the squad."
