We continue our pre-season build up with a visit from near neighbours Dundonald Bluebell and a 3pm kick off at Central Park.
The last time the sides met was in August 2023 when a Fife Cup tie ended in a 4-4 draw at Moorside Park with us winning 5-4 on penalties. Lucas Berry gave us the lead before Regan Lumsden and Callum Smith put the hosts ahead. Josh Jack levelled the score before Berry got his second goal of the night and Mikey Cunningham put us ahead before late goals from Kyle McCulloch and Luke Kennedy made it 4-4. In the penalty shoot out Jack, Cunningham, Ciaran Chalmers, Matty McDonald and Adam MacDonald got our goals with Bluebell’s Josh Barbour missing the final penalty which ensured our win.
Jason Dair’s side had a strong end to their league campaign winning their last four games and eventually finishing fourth in the East of Scotland Premier Division with 46 points from their 30 games although they were 11 points adrift of the top three of Musselburgh Athletic, Hill of Beath Hawthorn and Jeanfield Swifts.
Former Central Parker Lucas Berry has now signed a permanent deal with the Moorside Park club after having a spell on loan from Camelon in the second half of last season.
The Bell opened their friendly fixtures with a 1-0 win over Lochore Welfare at the Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre in Glenrothes. That was followed up last Saturday with a 4-2 home win over Bo’ness United in a testimonial game for Aidan Hendry. On Wednesday they continued their winning run with a 3-1 win over Livingston United at Station Park.
We have also won our opening two friendly matches which both ended 2-1 against Gartcairn at Central Park last Saturday and Kirkcaldy & Dysart at the Bodywyse Autocare Park on Tuesday night.
The games have given Paul McLean the opportunity to run over a variety of trialists as he builds his squad for the forthcoming Lowland League campaign.
