MATCH PREVIEW - BONNYRIGG ROSE (H)

Posted August 2, 2025

For our second successive home game, we welcome Bonnyrigg Rose to Central Park for our third Park’s Motor Group Lowland League game in what has been a busy start to the season with a 3pm kick off.

Tuesday night saw us earn our first points of the season with a 1-0 win over Bo’ness United with Max Williamson getting his first goal for the club.

Bonnyrigg sit in 10th place in the table one spot above us on goal difference.

THE OPPOSITION

Rose opened their pre-season build up with a 2-1 win over Whitehill thanks to goals from Kerr Young and Kian Spiers. This was followed up by a 3-2 defeat from Stenhousemuir at Ochilview Park with Josh Laing bagging a brace. A trip to New Victoria Park then saw a 3-1 win over Newtongrange Star with goals from Rudi Bryce (2) and Lee Currie.

The Premier Sports Cup campaign proved to be a tough one for Bonnyrigg losing all four games. They opened with a 1-0 home win against Alloa Athletic with Luke Rankin scoring for the Wasps.

That was followed up by a 3-0 defeat against Airdrie at the Excelsior Stadium with Rhys Armstrong, Euan Henderson with a penalty and Lewis McGrattan getting the goals in the first half with Josh Laing being sent off seven minutes from the break. A 4-1 defeat then followed against Montrose at Gayfield Park, as the surface at Links Park was being relayed. Kallum Higginbotham gave Rose a half time lead but Corrie Fellows put through his own net with Euan Louden, Terry Masson and Craig Wighton adding to the Gable Endies tally. The campaign then closed with a 3-1 loss to Dundee at Ferguson Park with Cammy Ross cancelling out an opener from Clark Robertson. However, late goals from Emile Aquah and Billy Koumetio denied them a point.

The Lowland League season opened with a 2-1 home loss to Gretna 2008 with Iain Anderson and Liam Short putting the Anvils two up before Alassan Jones came off the bench to pull a goal back.

On Wednesday they beat Gala 3-0 at Netherdale thanks to goals from Kallum Higginbotham, Jones and Cammy Ross.
