Loan Ranger signs

Posted January 21, 2011

Jimmy Nicholl completed the loan signing of 20-year old Rangers striker Archie Campbell (pictured courtesy of Rangers FC) on Friday evening. The local boy has signed on a one month deal with the option to extend until the end of the season.

Nicholl is delighted to finally get his man after attempting to sign the player in August:

"I'm delighted that we have managed to secure Archie on a loan deal. He is a promising striker with loads of pace and has the qualities to make a name for himself in the game.

"I'm hoping to set up a bounce game for next week to give the first team squad some match time and also an opportunity to see the new signings in action."

Campbell is returning to familiar surrounding as the highly promising Scotland youth internationalist came through the ranks at Cowdenbeath before signing for Rangers as a 15-year old.

Nicholl had been hoping to conclude deals for two other players today but no further business is likely to take place until next week.

Meanwhile, Lee Sibanda has been released. The midfielder, who previously played for Nicholl at Dunfermline as a youngster, joined the club from amatuer side Cupar Hearts in the summer but failed to establish himself as a first team regular.

Campbell is available to sponsor along with fellow new signing Lewis Coult. Click here to read more about the initiative and phone 01383 610166 or email office@cowdenbeathfc.com to get your name displayed on the players web profiles and in the match day programme.
