The Blue Brazil picked up their first away point since September after a morale-boosting 1-1 draw with last season's Scottish Cup finalists at Victoria Park.
County had the upper hand in the first half and it was no surprise when Jason Marr opened the scoring with half an hour gone after good link up play with Stevie Milne.
Cowden - with debutants Lee Makel, Archie Campbell and Stevie Crawford on from the start - came into the game after the break and equalised after 52 minutes thanks to an own goal from Marc Fitzpatrick. The impressive Campbell, who had the assist for the opener, almost won the game for the away side but his curling shot came back off the underside of the bar.
The precious point moves Jimmy Nicholl's team further ahead of bottom placed Stirling Albion and ends a run of 5 consecutive goalless away defeats.
