A scrappy game was settled by a Liam Buchanan goal on the hour mark as Dunfermline took all three points in the final Central Park derby of the season.

The Pars dominated possession for much of the game but the home side - missing a host of injured players and Greg Stewart due to work commitments - competed well without doing enough in the final third.

Former Central Parker Buchanan missed a sitter just before half-time but made no mistake 15 minutes after the break when he got the better of the impressive Thomas O'Brien and slotted past David Hay from 12 yards.

Cowden pressed for an equaliser late on but the league leaders held firm to claim the points.
