Message from David Hay

PostedMay 31, 2011

David Hay signed-off from a success-laden 6-year spell at Central Park after becoming only the 14th player to make 200 league appearances for Cowdenbeath Football Club.

The popular keeper joined the Blue Brazil in the summer of 2005 and was the undoubted no 1 during the club's most successful spell in modern times.

He played a leading role in the club's first title win for 67 years when a dramatic last day win over Elgin City in April 2006 secured the 3rd Division Championship trophy. Hay also went onto win another two promotions with Cowden along with a host of player of the year awards and the Irn-Bru SFL Player of the Month for September 2010.

'Duff' was in touch with the official website recently to pass on his best wishes and thanks: "I'd like to say thanks to all the supporters I have met over the years and the club for giving me unbelievable support.

"I have left with some great memories and I feel privileged and honoured to have been part of the club's recent successes.

"I wish everyone associated with the club the best of luck for the future."

Thanks and best wishes from everyone at Central Park.
