Cowden 3 St. Mirren 1

Posted July 20, 2011

Colin Cameron's impressive team made it 4 pre-season wins out of 4 and added a 3rd SPL scalp in the process.

The game was the perfect preperation for Saturday's away tie against Raith Rovers in the 1st round of the Ramsdens Cup as Cowden shone against a very strong St. Mirren line-up.

The Blue Brazil opened the scoring with our first meaningful effort on goal when Jon Robertson (18) curled a terrific free-kick into Graeme Smith's bottom corner.

The away side pressed for an equaliser and Paul McGowan tied the scores 9 minutes later with a long range effort.

Greg Stewart (pictured) put Cowden back in front on the hour mark after bulleting home a header from a Colin Cameron delivery and the same player sealed the game with 10 minutre remaining. Sub Lee Makel played a great cross field ball onto the overlapping Kenny Adamson who set up Stewart to curl home from 14 yards in some style.
