Cowden went down to a narrow defeat at Glebe Park as two controversial refereeing decisions defined a poor game.

Colin Cameron's side did not perform anywhere the high standard set thisseasonandour usual slick passing game was limited by the difficult playing surface with both sides going long more often than not. In fact this was the first time this season that the team failed to find the net in a competitive fixture.

The first goal wasalwaysgoing to be crucial andJon Robertson looked to have given the away sidea first halfadvantage after jumping unmarked to head home from close rangebut the referee spotted a mysterious infringement and chalked the 'goal' off.

Charlie King(53)scored the only goal of the game after cooly slotting home from 16 yards but there was more than a hint of offside in the build up to the goal.

Cowden pressed for an equaliser late on without troubling Craig Nelson and the final result was probably a fair reflection on a game that awell organised Brechin side edged over the 90 minutes.

On a positive note, Mark Ramsay (pictured)made his long awaited return from injury as a second half replacement for Kenny Adamson.
