Colin Cameron added significantly to his attacking options this evening after securing the signatures of Derek Lyle and Liam Cusak.
30-year old Lyle, who has signed until the end of the season, is a vastly experienced striker who has given service to a host of senior clubs including Partick Thistle, Queen of the South, Stirling Albion, Dundee and Greenock Morton. The player - many fans will remember Lyle scoring an overhead kick for Stirling Albion against Cowden in 2004 - has played most of his football at 1st division and SPL level was most recently in his second spell with Hamilton Accies before departing New Douglas Park last month.
Cusak has impressed for 3rd Division Clyde this season after scoring 5 goals from 22 appearances and joins Cowden on an 18 month contract after compensation was agreed with the Broadwood side. The pacey 22-year old can play up front or out wide and has also been on the books of Gretna, Dumbarton and Annan Athletic.
"I'm really pleased to get these two signed up", commented Cameron.
"Liam is a young prospect who offers us a number of attacking options while Derek has great experience and has proven quality after playing at a high level for most of his career.
"The signings are well timed as Greg Stewart is out this Saturday due to injury and a number of players also face late fitness tests."
