IRN-BRU Cans for Youth Teams - Update

Posted March 4, 2012

The club has already collected hundreds of empty Barr's cans thanks to the excellent response from the fans and local community!

The IRN-BRU Cans for Youth Teams initiative will award each of the 30 clubs in the Scottish Football League (SFL) a share of £70,000 to help fund the future development of Scottish football.  – the more Barrs cans you collect, the larger the share we will receive. We need everyone to keep up the good work to have a chance of winning the £10,000 Second Division top prize.

Cans for Youth Teams collection bins are in place at Central Park and local stores, so simply drop in your used Barrs cans before the cut off date of May 5th 2012.

Thanks for participating and please Keep collecting empty Barr's cans to help Blue Brazil win the biggest share of the cash!

Drink it, crush it, and score it for the Blue Brazil!

How Cans for Youth Teams works:

(1) Crush your used Barrs can(s)
(2) Take your empty can(s) to one of the local collection points – in your local club and participating stores and venues
(3) Cans are uplifted and logged at IRN-BRU HQ and the Cans for Youth Teams League Table is updated
(4) The £70,000 cash fund is split amongst the 30 clubs, by division.

You can follow Cowden's progress this year through the Cans for Youth Teams League Table which will be issued to press and available online at The final league table will be unveiled at the IRN-BRU SFL Phenomenal End of Season Awards due to take place on the 23rd May 2012.

A reminder that the IRN-BRU bus will visit Central Park on Saturday 17th of March for our home fixture against Stenhousemuir. You can have some fun with new games and giveaways from IRN-BRU pre match and at half-time
