Biography:

Colin McGlashan (Striker, 1985-86) – Cowden signed the 20 year old 5ft 7in Colin ‘Dibble’ McGlashan from neighbours Dunfermline for a £3,000 fee in March 1985. Colin had joined Dundee from Celtic Boys Club in 1980. He scored just 2 goals in 26 league games in his time with Dundee and Dunfermline. It was at Cowdenbeath that Colin turned the tide and he became one of Scottish football’s most consistent marksmen. 27 league goals in 21 months for the Blue Brazil attracted Clyde to pay £12,000 for his services – this was the sixth bid Cowden had received for him. Colin was a real goal grabber but he also was an intelligent and proficient ball player. He revived his career at Central Park. He played in every division in Scotland and scored goals in them all. Partick Thistle, Ayr United, Montrose, Arbroath and Elgin City also benefited from his play and his goals after he moved from Clyde. 11 times he was the leading goalscorer in a season for his club. His remarkable final Scottish League record was 607 appearances and 210 league goals.
