The under 19s got their league campaign off to a flyer with a comprehensive win over Partick Thistle at Bellsdale Park, home of junior side Beith. It was a memorable afternoon for Rory Emslie who bagged four goals, with Martyn Robinson also getting on the score sheet.
Emslie (GOAL, 33 mins) broke the deadlock after 33 minutes when he slipped the ball under Jags keeper Ryan Scully.
Three minutes later the home side grabbed an equaliser when Shaun
Fraser (GOAL, 36 mins) had a cross come shot from just at the bye line which dipped over Jackson. Soon after Robinson saw a shot come off the bar as Cowden looked to restore their lead.
Right on the half time whistle Miller put the ball across the face of the Thistle goal for
Emslie (GOAL, 45 mins) to slot the ball into the empty net for his second goal of the afternoon.
Two minutes short of the hour mark
Emslie (GOAL, 58 mins) completed his hat trick, after Moosavi saw his shot parried by substitute keeper Graeme Shepherd, Emslie was on hand to slot home the rebound.
Five minutes later Emslie turned provider when he slotted the ball across for
Robinson (GOAL, 63 mins) to net our fourth goal.
The Jags having used all three substitutes were reduced to nine men for the closing stages when both Andy Dunbar and Colin Stevenson had to leave the field with injuries.
As the game drew to a close
Emslie (GOAL, 88 mins) completed a memorable afternoon when he got his fourth goal with two minutes to go.
