Albion Rovers 1  Cowdenbeath FC 0

Date: 31st March 2012 Kick off: 3:00pm
Competition: Irn-Bru 2nd Division Referee: Crawford Allan
Venue: Cliftonhill Attendance: 402

An early goal from on loan Rangers youngster Jack Werndly was enough to see our ten game unbeaten run come to an end at Cliftonhill.
Fortunately Arbroath also went down 3-2 at home to Brechin so we remained seven points clear at the top of the table.
It was an unchanged side from the one which had beaten Dumbarton which took to the field at Cliftonhill.
Rovers boosted with their win at Stenhousemuir the previous week were quick out the blocks and in six minutes Stevenson went close with a volley.
And 60 seconds later Stevenson turned provider when he set up Jack Werndly inside the box who fired a shot into the top corner.
McKenzie had a chance to pull us level when he burst into the box but his curling effort lacked power to test Gaston.
Soon after Ferry headed straight at Flynn as Rovers looked to increase their lead while at the other end McKenzie picked out Linton in the box who sent his header over the bar.
Ten minutes from the interval Rovers should have doubled their lead when McStay put Gemmell, who appeared to be offside, through on goal but thankfully the former Central Parker sent his shot well wide of the target.
Five minutes into the second half we passed up a great chance to pull level when Linton thumped the ball over from six yards after a good build up.
Gaston then kept Rovers in front with two fine saves from Coult as we went down to only our fourth defeat of the campaign.
There were four bookings all in the first half with Cameron, Linton and Adamson joining Stevenson of the home side in referee Allan’s book.
