Two goals in the closing 18 minutes from Marc McKenzie clinched our fifth SFL title and confirmed our place in next season’s First Division.
There was once change to the side which had won at Stirling the previous week with Derek Lyle coming in for Liam Cusack who dropped down to the bench.
The Loons were first to threaten when Low seized on a defensive mistake but sent his 20 yard shot wide.
However we quickly replied and a Linton cross was headed over his own bar by Bishop and from the resultant corner McKenzie’s shot from ten yards was gathered by Paterson.
Templeman shot past the post as the Loons looked to break the deadlock while at the other end Paterson saved a 25 yard free kick from Linton.
The visitor’s best chance of the afternoon came after 21 minutes when Campbell’s ten yard shot was cleared off the line by Linton.
Eight minutes later a Stewart cross found McKenzie who shot wide from six yards.
After a goal less opening 45 minutes we stepped up the pace in the second half and eventually got the breakthrough in 72 minutes when Marc McKenzie was put through by a superb flick from Stewart and raced on to clip the ball home.
Ten minutes later the win and the championship was confirmed when McKenzie burst through the visitors defence, rounding Paterson, to blast the ball into the net from 12 yards.
