A last gasp goal from Jason Cummings denied us a point on our visit to Easter Road to leave us at the bottom of the table. It was former Cowden boss Pat Stanton's 70th birthday and the former Easter Road legend was joined on the pitch pre game with his team mates from the \"Turnbull's Tornados\" side of the early 1970s with included fellow former Cowden managers John Brownlie and John Blackley. The home side led 1-0 at the interval after a goal in 26 minutes when Allan's short free kick was whipped into the Cowden box by Kennedy and Jordan FORSTER rose to head past Thomson. We however made a positive start to the second half and drew level in 49 minutes when a cut back from Armstrong was steered home by Sean Higgins. Minutes later we should have taken the lead when Mine's shot was cleared by Stevenson into the path of Higgins who saw his shot crash off the underside of the bar. But with 56 minutes gone we did take the lead when a reverse pass from Higgins sent debutant Gallagher clear down the right, defender Hanlon met his cross but steered it into the path of Jon ROBERTSON who volleyed home from close range. Hibs had a penalty claim waived aside when the ball struck Armstrong's arm but with 12 minutes to go they were awarded a spot kick when Armstrong was judged to fouled Forster following a Robertson free kick - after referee John McKendrick had been notified by his assistant Paul Reid. New boy Dominique MALONGA duly sent the spot kick past Thomson to set up a grandstand finish. As the game went deep into stoppage time it looked like we had earned our second point of the season but Kennendy's cross eventually fell into the path of CUMMINGS who fired home with what was almost the last kick of the ball.
