Two goals in a four minute spell just before half time saw Edinburgh City run out winners as they moved six points ahead of us at the foot of the table.

Having already missing Robbie Buchanan through suspension Gary Bollan was dealt another blow when Blair Malcolm failed a pre match fitness test after suffering from a tight hamstring at the end of the mid week game at Montrose.

So for the first time in four games it was a changed starting line up with Jack Whitaker coming back into the side along with assistant manager Mark Fotheringham who made his debut.

The opening minute saw Muirhead work his way up the left and sent the ball over to Brad Smith but his shot from the edge of the box went over.

At the other end El Alagui sent a shot over and a minute later City were dealt a blow when Beattie had to go off injured.

In 14 minutes Muirhead was brought down by Walker but the resulting free kick from Mullen went over the bar.

Shepherd then sent a shot wide and just after the half hour a Mullen corner an initial shot from Swann was blocked with Fotheringham’s follow up from the edge of the box going wide.

However it was the visitors who made the breakthrough with 37 minutes gone when Scott SHEPHERD fired home from 12 yards after Grimes inital shot had been blocked.

Miller then sent a shot over as we looked to get back into the game but four minutes from the break El Alagui was brought down by McInally and Grimes sent the free kick into the and from Harrison’s knockdown Pat SCULLION first timed the ball into the far corner.

Midway through the second half Muirhead broke through but keeper Antell was quick to block the ball at the edge of the box.

Mullen then saw a shot blocked as we entered the closing stages and with a minute to go Syme saw a cross bounce off the top of the bar.
