Date: 1st September 2018 Kick off: 3:00pm
Competition: Ladbrokes League 2 Referee: John McKendrick
Venue: Hampden Park Attendance: 534

The biggest surprise of our trip to Hampden a fortnight ago was the fact that it ended goal less with both teams having their chances in an open game.

There were two changes to the side which had beaten Berwick with Jason Talbot returning after injury and David Cox back in the starting line up. Harvey Swann dropped to the bench while Kyle Miller was suspended.

The host had the ball in the back of the net when Hawke sent an angled shot across the face of goal but fortunately for us the offside Osadlor tapped the ball home.

Minutes later a shot from McLean was cleared off the line by Marsh while at the other end a Mullen corner reached Scott but his header was saved by Hart.

Scott then had another good opportunity to open the scoring when he as put through by Smith but his shot was parried by the keeper.

McGurn then blocked a free kick by Roberts and done likewise with an effort from Mortimer knocking it onto the post.

Mullen then saw an angled free kick knocked onto the bar by Hart with the keeper catching it at the second attempt.

A dramatic first half then closed with Hawke sending a shot from the edge of the box just over.

It was a quit second half in comparison to the first but with 13 minutes to go McGurn once again denied Mortimer when he was through on goal.
